It takes a lot of hard work to prepare for entrance exams but along with hard work, knowing some tips and tricks can only benefit your preparation. Remember, cracking an entrance exam is not about hard work but about doing your best in the examination hall. We bring you 10 tips to help you prepare for entrance exams.

Handling SNAP requires studying. But there are other things that one must concentrate on before giving an examination, be it be SNAP or any entrance exam. A normal human mind can clear any kind of examination, but you need to have some strategies regarding the preparation. Some of these are listed below:

1. Self-confidence:-

Firstly, you should believe in yourself and trust your instincts. “Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth”. If you have confidence in yourself you can achieve the target of solving 150 questions in 120 mins that you haven’t even thought of.

2. Know your strength and weakness:-

Everyone has specific strengths and everyone has specific weaknesses. Look at the last year papers and finalise your strong areas – high accuracy and less time taking questions; Weak areas – high timing taking or low accuracy. It’s pretty certain that if you are not clear on your weaknesses then you are not clear on your strengths either. Playing to your strengths and sailing through the weaknesses is the best exam strategy you can bet on.

3. Time Management:-

Prepare a mock plan timetable for yourself and see to it that you follow it. A timetable which has a neat distribution of time for tackling each subject. Cetking recommends following ideal time management:
Quant 40 mins 30 attempts
Verbal 35 mins 30 attempts
Logic 40 mins 30 attempts
Gk 5 mins 10 questions

4. Read the questions cautiously:-

Examiners esp in Logic section will try to trap students by playing around with the question and options. So read the question carefully to understand what is required and see the options with great concentration. In verbal watch out for the questions which are designed to have more than one correct answer and you are supposed to choose the option with multiple correct answers.

5. Should solve mocks:-

Solve mocks so that the mind will be able to prepare strategies & you will feel the mental atmosphere of solving the paper. Attempting mocks can also help in understanding how much time you require answering each question. It also helps achieving concentration during exams. Total 5 mocks are eniugh before your snap exam but no mock on the last day of the exam.

6.  Train your mind for the exam:-

Your mind should be prepared to perform well during an exam. This requires consistency over a long period of time. If you are planning to give your exam in 9-12 slot, you should practice solving papers at the same time so that your mind is trained to be super active during that period.

7. Be fit physically & mentally:-

Don’t give up your sleep for studying. Arrange your study hours so that you get good sleep to keep you strong. Keep exercising & meditating it will not only help you to have good stamina but also to gain concentration. Don’t keep studying for long hours, take 5-10 mins break after each half an hour. Close your eyes & sit or just go for a walk & then return to study. This will help you relax & study more. So, its very important to stay fit.

8. Use method of elimination:-

Whenever in doubt use method of elimination to your rescue. Start by eliminating 2 options which have the least possibility of being correct. Sometimes irrespective of the question, the fact contained in the options itself can be used to eliminate them. Selecting a final answer out of 2 is sometimes tricky and if it’s worth the risk you can go with your gut at times. It works pretty well especiaally for gk verbal and quant section.

9. Be Positive:-

You have studied more than you think after all you have spent so many days for it. Do not have a negative attitude towards the exams. If you think positively you will help yourself gain confidence. All you need is 100 attempt in the paper, with good accuracy you can clear the cutoffs.

10.  Learn all the shortcuts:-

Every student has shortcuts which they use to prepare for entrance exams. Be it for remembering formulas or memorizing charts, use shortcuts to save your time. There are some standard shortcuts which you can tap into but creating your own wouldn’t harm either. Cetking studentd should see all shortcut videos in your online3 login id.

ALL THE BEST!!!
