IIFT has completed final placements for its largest ever batch of 254, with a top international salary of close to Rs 1 crore ($150,000) and a 23.8 per cent jump in average compensation to Rs 18.01 lakh. The highest domestic compensation was Rs 29 lakh, a rise of 21 per cent compared to last year. One fourth of the batch received PPOs, a 36 per cent rise from last year. 15 international roles were offered as compared to 13 last year. International placements were offered across locations such as Tanzania, Nigeria, Middle East, Thailand and Hongkong. International roles were offered by Olam International, TGI Group, Bhatia Brothers, Bajaj Auto and Godrej. Recruiters who hired in large numbers included Amazon, Cognizant Business Consulting, JP Morgan, Vodafone, IDFC Bank, Wipro, HCL and ICICI Bank. First-timers on campus included Nivea, Pernod Ricard, 3M, British Telecom, Tata Sky, Synergy Consulting, General Motors, TGI Group, IDFC Bank and many more. The Banking, financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector was the largest recruiter hiring 25 per cent of the batch. Those hiring from this sector included the likes of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citibank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Edelweiss, Nomura, IDFC Bank and Religare. Sales and marketing was represented by the likes of ITC, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, Nivea, L’Oreal, 3M, Britannia, TATA Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, TATA Steel, while conglomerates such as TATA, Godrej Industries, Mahindra and Mahindra, Airtel, Raymond, Welspun, Trident, Concentrix offered their leadership and strategy roles to IIFT students. Consulting giants Deloitte, GeP, Cognizant Business Consulting, CEB recruited, while executive search firm, Russell Reynolds, continued to hire exclusively from IIFT. Technology giants like Google, HP, SAP India, IBM, Hexaware and Adobe also made their presence felt, as did telecom giants Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. Source economic times.
