IIM Calcutta cutoff
COLLEGE NAME: INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, CALCUTTA
EXAM Scores Accepted: CAT
Expected cutoff for IIM Calcutta Open Category: 99.4
Please Note: This is tentative cutoff, Please check the latest cutoff from the college.

Like IIMA, the IIMC has prescribed its minimum CAT 2014 cut off percentile as its shortlisting Criteria. The candidates will be shortlisted for next round of admission process comprising Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal Interview (PI). Although the minimum CAT 2014 percentile cut off can be around 90, the actual cut off could go beyond 99.

Besides those who have not scored a high balanced percentile in both the sections in CAT 2014 may not expect to be shortlisted by IIMC unless they have excellent academic profile. IIMC is the dream B school for MBA aspirants and especially for those who prefer pursuing PGDM with specialization in finance.

The prescribed minimum CAT cut off percentile overall as well as section shared below indicates only the threshold limit below which IIMC will not consider the candidates for admission to its flagship PGP Programme 2015-17. It is in no way the actual CAT 2014 cut off percentile which may go much higher than the prescribed one. Apart from this the candidate with low percentile but excellent academic record may be shortlisted vis-à-vis the candidate with high percentile but average academic profile.

In regard to actual CAT cut off percentile to be considered for shortlisting the candidates IIMC says “Please note that the actual section-wise and overall percentile for short-listing candidates for PI may be much higher than the above mentioned minimum cut-offs as the short- listing for PI is done on the basis of composite score.”  Hence the actual CAT Cut off can go well beyond 99+.

Academic Profile
Candidates will be shortlisted for PI stage on the basis of composite scores which will be arrived at by accounting for the academic profile. The Composite Score therefore is calculated on the basis of CAT score, Class X and Class XII aggregate percentages, and gender diversity factor. Formula to arrive at the final score in Shortlisting at IIMC+

A candidate’s composite score is calculated based on all the above factors. A cut-off of composite score is used for short-listing the number of candidates for PI stage in each category. The number of candidates short-listed for PI stage would be the discretion of the institute and would depend on the batch size of 2015-17.
