MBA CET 2017 out of 95000 only 2375 close Top 4

Cetking analysis: 95000 competition sounds challenging but only 950 out of them can have a shot at Jbims and Sydenham, 2375 for top 4 and 4750 for the top 10 colleges.

95000 applying for the CET 2017 exam but as we all know competition is a value game not volume game. Here I want to do the analysis of the quality of students rather than quantity. In an exam like CET out of 200 marks scoring 100 should not be a challenge as there is no negative marking nor too much maths.. 50% of the competition out only 47500 left. Total applicants 50% people wont study, no mock, no classes and not even aware of paper pattern. There is a whole breed of students almost 50% who are giving exam for the heck of it. 50%ile in CET is 55 marks..  ie half the applicants wont be scoring even 55 marks ie 25% marks failing drastically! 80% of the competition out only 19000 left I consider 75 marks to be respectable total out of 200 in cet. If you increase your score by 20 more marks from 55 ie score of 75 will fetch you 80%ile. Means only 19000 left who are fighting for decent colleges in CET. but 80%ile wont get you any top college. 95% of the competiton out only 4750 left Fight for the top 10 starts here. Believe me or not.. 100 marks in cet is 95%ile so You need minimum 100 marks to have a chance for the top 10 colleges ie sies pumba dalmia met ies xaviers. cutoff will be 97%ile plus for these colleges. plus pgdm of these colleges you can convert at this score. 97.5% of competition is out only 2375 left Fight for the top 4 starts here. Surprisingly only 110 marks is 97.5%ile in CET exam. You need 120 for the top 4 kj somaiya welingkar and above. So students scoring 110 marks today are inline for the top 4 colleges provided you improve in next few days. Imagine only 2375 fighting for top seats. Convert ratio is very high. 99% of the competition is out only 950 left Fight for JBIMS and Sydenham 120 marks in cet will be 99%ile in CET. Shockingly all 95000 aspire to be in jbims but only 950 students scoring above 99%ile ie 120 marks plus scorers in mocks will have a chance for it. So if you look at it competition is peanuts when it comes to claiming your rights on jbims. So keep the hopes high.. assumptions: 1. while making this analysis we have assumed only open seats as point of reference. 2. The scores are based on normalised scores published by DTE. 3. 120 seats include category as well but we have assumed all 120 to be only open seats for simplicity.
