Tata Institute Of Social Science(TISS) is a prestigious institute for social science education consisting of four campuses based in Mumbai ,Guwahati ,Hyderabad & Tuljapur with Mumbai being its main campus. TISS is very well known for its Human Resource Management and Labour Relations (HRM & LR) program which trains students in taking up corporate challenges & key function of business management. TISS also include other courses,to mention few of them are M.A. in Development studies, M.A. in Women studies, M.A. in social work, M.A. /MSc in Disaster Management, M.A. in Globalization & Labour, Master in Health management, Master in Hospital Management and few more. TISS conducts an entrance exam called TISSNET is usually conducted in the month of December or January which is a computer based test of1hr 40mins, there is no sectional time limit hence candidates can switch section as per their requirement TISSNET had following marks distribution: • General Awareness: (40 ques) • Mathematical & Logical Reasoning: (30 ques) • English Proficiency (30 ques) The total number of questions were 100 having 1 marks each The exam does not have negative marking scheme which gives advantage to students as they can assume answers for which marks will not be deducted. The shortlisted candidates will be screened further on following basis: • Pre-interview test • Personal interview The pre-Interview Test includes either group discussion (GD)OREssay writing. Candidates who have applied for school of social work will have to appear for GD. The duration for GD would be 20 mins and it carries the weightage of around 50 marks. Candidates who have applied for School of management and Labour studies will have to appear for Essay writing test.Candidates will be given two topics out of which one has to be attempted. The essay should have minimum 500 words and duration of the test would be 35mins.The weightage for essay writing will be around 50 marks. Personal interview (PI) round is conducted after the pre-interview. Weight for personal interview will be 75 marks. PI would be based on pre-interview test and candidates profile. The candidates would be overall evaluated on following basis.
