In the MBA CET (Common Entrance Test) for Maharashtra, candidates can apply under different types of candidatures based on their eligibility and domicile status. The primary types are:

  1. Maharashtra State Candidature: For candidates with domicile in Maharashtra.
  2. All India Candidature: Open to candidates from any state in India.
  3. Minority Candidature: For candidates belonging to religious or linguistic minority communities in Maharashtra.
  4. NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals/Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries: For non-resident candidates and those with overseas status.
  5. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature: For candidates displaced from Jammu and Kashmir.

Type 1 Maharashtra State Candidature

A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

Place of domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

Type A seats in MBA CET

(i) For Post Graduate courses.-Candidates passing HSC or 10+2 Examination or Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy or Diploma of Vocation and also Qualifying Examination from a recognized Institution in the Maharashtra State;
(ii) the candidate who is either domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in the Maharashtra;

Type B seats in MBA CET

A Candidate who does not fall in Type A above, but who or whose father or mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses domicile certificate.

Type C seats in MBA CET

A Candidate who does not fall in either Type A or Type B but whose father or mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in the Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

Type D seats in MBA CET

A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type A, Type B and Type C but whose father or mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

Type E seats in MBA CET

For Post Graduate courses.-Candidates passing HSC or 10+2 Examination or Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy or Diploma of Vocation and also Qualifying Examination from a recognized institution located in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from the Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi. Explanation- The Maharashtra Karnataka Border area includes the villages declared by the State Government for that purpose.

Type (2) All India Candidature seats in MBA CET

The candidates having Indian nationality are eligible under this Category. more details on Cetking.com/AI

Type (3) Minority Candidature seats in MBA CET

The Maharashtra domiciled candidate belonging to a particular linguistic or religious minority community within the State and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category. More Information on Cetking.com/Minority

Type (4) NRI seats in MBA CET

Non Resident Indian (NRI) Candidature.-The candidate who fulfils the conditions as defined in clause (n) of section 2 of the Act are eligible under this Category.

Type (5) OCI PIO seats in MBA CET

Foreign Student or OCI or PIO Candidature.-The Foreign Student Candidates, as defined in clause (i) of section 2 of the Act, the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidate, as defined in clause (z) of rule 2 and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) as defined in clause (o) of section 2 of the Act are eligible under this Category.

Type (6) Jammu Kashmir Ladakh seats in MBA CET

Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh Migrant Candidature for the children of following are eligible under this category.
(i) citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh to any part of India from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities; or
(ii) officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) posted to Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission; or
(iii)staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces posted in past or currently in the Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission; or (iv)Kashmiri Pandits or Kashmiri Hindu families (Non Migrants) living in the Kashmir valley and having Domicile certificate of Jammu and Kashmir; or (v) staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh police engaged in combating terrorism;
