MAH-MBA/MMS-CET-2025 Analysis: Slot 2 Detailed Breakdown
Date: 1st April 2025 (Tuesday)
Slot: 02:00 PM – 04:30 PM
Overall Verdict: Moderate & Lengthy (The “April Fool” Slot!)
Slot 2 was a major reality check for students who thought it would be a repeat of the morning. While the interface remained student-friendly with the drop-down menu, the content turned tricky and time-consuming. The “Teel ki badi botel” (Big bottle of oil) nickname from Cetking fits perfectly here—the paper was slippery and hard to grasp in 150 minutes!
Executive Summary
The MBA CET 2025 Slot 2 was noticeably more difficult and tedious than Slot 1. The defining feature was the length of questions across all sections. Even though the structure was sectional, the heavy presence of Quant-based reasoning in the Logic section and single-question RC passages in Verbal made it a nightmare for speed-seekers.
Key Highlights:
- Logic Surprise: Fewer traditional puzzles (only ~22 marks) but a massive 15 questions on Quant-Based Reasoning.
- Quant Gridlock: No Data Interpretation (DI) in this slot! The entire 50 questions were standard, lengthy word problems.
- Verbal Stamina: 9 Reading Comprehension passages with a “lesser question per passage” ratio.
- Abstract Savings: This remained the only “Easy” zone, though counting triangles added a slight calculation lag.
- Safe Attempts: For a JBIMS call, students needed to touch 140 – 145 attempts with high accuracy. 99%ile is expected at 120-125 marks.
Slot 2 Sectional Pattern & Analysis
| Section | No. of Questions | Difficulty Level | Cetking Verdict |
| Logical Reasoning | 75 | Moderate – Difficult | Lengthy Quant-logic hybrid. |
| Abstract Reasoning | 25 | Easy – Moderate | Pure scoring zone; 20 min job. |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 50 | Moderate | No DI; focus on Arithmetic. |
| Verbal Ability & RC | 50 | Moderate – Difficult | Lengthy; too many passages. |
| Total | 200 | Moderate | Speed + Selection = Success |
Section 1: Logical Reasoning (75 Questions)
This section felt like a “second Quant section” due to the high number of caselets and math-based logic.
| Topic | Questions | Level | Cetking Strategy |
| Quant Based Reasoning | 15 | Difficult | Time Trap: These are mini-Quant sets. |
| Analytical Puzzles | 7 | Moderate | Fewer sets (Circular/Distribution). |
| Direction Sense | 4 | Moderate | Standard but required drawing. |
| Blood Relations | 6 | Moderate | Higher weightage than Slot 1. |
| Coding & Decoding | 5 | Moderate | Tricky patterns compared to morning. |
| Deductions (Syllogisms) | 4 | Moderate | 2 were easy, 2 were time-consuming. |
| Misc (Series, Clocks) | 34 | Easy-Mod | Your “Bread and Butter” marks. |
Section 2: Abstract Reasoning (25 Questions)
The only section that allowed students to “breathe.” If you didn’t finish this in 20 minutes, you were losing out on valuable time for the lengthy Quant section.
- Five Figure Series: 6 Qs (Dominant topic).
- Analogies & Similar Pairs: 8 Qs.
- Counting Triangles: 2 Qs (The only “pen and paper” part here).
- Embedded Figures/Images: 6 Qs (Visual sitters).
Section 3: Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions)
SURPRISE: Zero Data Interpretation questions. Usually, DI is a scoring area, but Slot 2 forced students to solve 50 individual word problems.
| Topic | Questions | Cetking Insight |
| Time & Work / TSD | 12 | The heavyweights of this slot. |
| Ratio & Percentages | 10 | Direct but calculation-intensive. |
| Averages / Alligations | 9 | Moderate difficulty. |
| Geometry & Mensuration | 4 | Formula-based; don’t skip! |
| Equations & Numbers | 6 | Standard CET level. |
| Misc (P&C, Probability) | 7 | G-Strategy area for most students. |
Section 4: Verbal Ability & RC (50 Questions)
A very exhausting section. 9 passages with an average of only 2 questions per passage meant you were reading 300-400 words for just 1 or 2 marks.
- Reading Comprehension (16 Qs): 5 passages total. Passages 4 and 5 were short but had only 2 questions each.
- Vocabulary (12 Qs): Synonyms/Antonyms were tricky.
- Parajumbles (4 Qs): Two different patterns were introduced to keep you on your toes.
- Grammar (6 Qs): Sentence correction and identifying errors.
| Topic Group | Sub-Topic | No. of Questions | Difficulty Level |
| Reading Comprehension | Passage 1, 2, & 3 | 12 | Moderate – Difficult |
| Passage 4 & 5 | 4 | Moderate | |
| Verbal Ability | Parajumbles (2 Patterns) | 4 | Moderate – Difficult |
| Out of Context | 2 | Moderate | |
| Para Summary | 2 | Moderate | |
| Vocabulary | Synonyms / Antonyms | 12 | Difficult |
| Idioms | 4 | Moderate | |
| Fill in the Blanks | 5 | Moderate | |
| Correct Spelling | 1 | Easy | |
| Grammar | Error Identification | 2 | Moderate |
| Grammar Rules | 6 | Moderate | |
| Total | 50 | Moderate – Difficult |
