TFWS new seats introduced stands for Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. TFWS is actually a monitory / financial assistance for meritorious students who have scored good marks in MBA CET entrance examinations and are opting for MBA admissions. Under this scheme, the tuition fee of the aspirant is waived. Rest of the fees should be payed by the beneficiary.
For MBA Courses to help poor students Directorate Technical Education DTE, Maharashtra has started Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) for the students whose parent’s annual income is less than 6 lakhs from all sources. This scheme is applicable and mandatory for all Institutions offering Post Graduation / Bachelor programs that are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.
Should I Switch my Category to TFWS?
If you are really very poor and cant afford the fees you should switch to TFWS Seats ( if you are eligible) otherwise stick to your category seats. Apart from the Money issue these seats will benefit open category students as cutoff for these seats might be slightly lower than the open category seats. EWS OBC SC ST Students should not switch as the cutoffs will be higher for these seats.
Features of TFWS for CET Students

- CET Student’s Parents annual income from all sources should less than 6 lakhs
- CET Students who want to opt for these additional TFWS seats will have to specify their willingness in the option form as a separate choice code
