Entrepreneurship comes as the second most common choice for MBA’s. This is usually considered by those who want break the stereotype of being a hired corporate employee. Aspiring entrepreneurs want to work according to their own terms and the make the name of their own in the industry, But Entrepreneurship is not as easy as it may seem, as per a popular research 90% of the Indian Startups fail within the first five years of their inception and the answer to these failures being lack of innovation. Entrepreneurship is suitable for those who are really passionate about the process of providing solutions to human problems rather the ones who want to pursue this career for the sake of just making money.
3) Joining Family Business
It is a known phenomenon that Majority of the Indian Businesses are controlled by families.There are many individuals who pursue their MBA just to learn different business dynamics and business up scaling skills so that they can upgrade themselves and take their family business to next level. Family Business is something which is bound by common principles and traditions of the family. India is a country of Family Businesses popular names such as Ambani’s, Tata’s, Birlas, Godrej, Wadias, Munjals, Mahindra, Thapars, Mittals etc. Though there are quite a few business houses where professional teams are taking over control to carry the empires forward but this cannot be considered the end of family business, because at the end of the day loyalty lies with family.
4) Executive Education
This choice is considered by those who want to be research professionals,teachers and govern management bodies. There are also some people who pursue executive education just to create a better personal brand so that they have better networking and could easily raise funds for their entrepreneurial ideas. Even a limited 3 or 6 month period program from a recognized body is considered Executive education, examples of which include Authentic Leader Development,Leading Product Innovation programs from Harvard Business School there is also the option to long term with a PhD in the specialization which one wants to understand and explore further. 5) Reconnecting with Previous Profession
To conclude there are also individuals who reconnect with their prior profession. These are the people who pursue an MBA in order to understand how they can take their professional progress forward and enter into bigger management roles in the their respective organisation. Having a formal management education helps these professionals to get the hang of business management and its different tools such as total quality management,customer relationship management etc,
