Talk about breathtaking stuff, this game back in 2013 at the Chinnaswamy stadium was one of the finest in the last decade or so. That was a game which ruffled my heart beat and almost caused a cardiac arrest. Batting first, Shikhar Dhawan gave India a good start and after he was dismissed, Virat Kohli was at the receiving end of a run-out, thanks to an error of judgment from Rohit Sharma.

The innings progressed quite normally till Rohit got to his century, but after MS Dhoni joined him, one of the most destructive carnages followed which absolutely battered the Aussie bowlers. After getting to his hundred in 38th over, Rohit completed a double ton in the 50th over and India amassed a staggering 150 runs in the last 10 overs. Out of nowhere, this duo gifted one of the most memorable moments in Indian cricket history as India posted a humongous 383 and it seemed like a walk in the park for India after Australia lost quick wickets.

Glenn Maxwell and Shane Watson’s exploits ensured their run rate didn’t dip, but they lost too many wickets. With Coulter-Nile’s wicket in the 30th over, they were reduced to 211/8 and that pretty much seemed it. But James Faulkner registered his first ODI century and threw up one of the greatest fightbacks of all time.

They had enough overs in hand to get the job done, but the final two wickets fell in quick succession and the young Indian contingent completed a hard-fought series win. They never had to battle out this hard in a series, as they had to chase 350+ totals twice and the final win as mentioned above, was. That match had a total of 38 sixes from both sides (19 each), the highest in ODI history.
