AHMEDABAD: Summer internship recruiting has begun for the full-time, two-year PGP (MBA) Class of 2028 at IIM Ahmedabad. The first cluster was held on 23 October 2026. India Today, citing an IIMA media release, reported on 24 October that recruiters brought more than 85 distinct roles across six industry cohorts. IIM Ahmedabad has not published the release on a page we could open, so this is a media report.
Which track would you chase at IIM A?
Cluster 1 covered management consulting; transformation and operations consulting; advisory consulting; investment banking and markets; cards and financial advisory; and private equity, venture capital, asset management and hedge funds.
Recruiters reported to have participated include BCG, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, Accenture Strategy, EY-Parthenon, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC and Morgan Stanley. International internship opportunities in Singapore and Hong Kong were also reported.
One distinction matters: "85+ roles" is the variety of positions on offer in this cluster. It is not the number of students placed, offers accepted, or any stipend figure. The next two clusters were reported for 27 and 30 October 2026.
Why CAT aspirants should care
The cluster shows which functions and employers are recruiting at IIMA right now: consulting, investment banking and private markets lead the first round. One cluster cannot predict final placements, and the Class of 2028 joined in 2026 — CAT 2026 takers would join in 2027. Wait for the institute's consolidated placement report, which separates recruiters, roles and offers.
What to do now
- Treat this as a signal of recruiter demand, not a job guarantee.
- Check IIM Ahmedabad's admission criteria for the 2027 intake separately.
- Watch for the Cluster 2 and 3 reports on 27 and 30 October.
